A B and B Personality

I'm taking it for granted that you've made up your mind and what ever anyone says about considering the changes you're about to make to your life style, your family and your home, it will go in one ear and out the other. That's how you should be single minded, get the job done, your at the height of enthusiasm.

But at the back of your mind your probably still thinking, but what if, how do you do that, can I fit it all in.

Well lets try and answer some of those niggley little questions leading up to the opening of you're new accommodation business, be it a hotel, guest house or b and b their all related to the term bed and breakfast so that is the term I'll use to cover all three.

First of all you may want to ask your self why instead of how.
Why are you doing this?
Answer this question.
Your answer will form the foundation of your goal.

Are You the Right Person To Run a B and B

To start any new business you will need to be in good health,

You enjoy meeting new people, be able to talk to them, interact, have a joke, pull their leg.

Have a good telephone manner.

Be good at DIY, it will save you a lot of money.

Make rules and stand by them, they'll change as time go's by but stick to the new changes.

You should be able to let people know when there breaking your rules.

Be well versed in local knowledge, history, transport and night life.

Go out of your way to help people.

Know your surroundings that well, you'll be able to talk someone in who's lost on the way to your bed and breakfast.

Be able to read people, what type of person are they, do you really want them to stay.

A B and B Brakefast

Do you enjoy making breakfast?
People come for the view, or the location, or a million other reasons, but they remember that fantastic breakfast you served them before they set out on their adventure.

Can you be diplomatic?
Or do you insist on making, and winning your point?
It is almost guaranteed that you are going to play host to people who do not think exactly like you do.

Are you tolerant of other people and their lifestyles? You are going to be meeting a lot of different people from all walks of life, and from all over the world. Can you be a good ambassador?

I have a Bed and Breakfast in Videix, Limousin, S W France and I agree, you have to do all this but so much more. Advertising, answering e-mails, keeping books, ironing, housework, housework and more housework. Be flexible enough to cater for different tastes, speak languages - or at least be able to read them (dutch defeats me) .... The list goes on. Many thanks for pointing out just how many skills are needed.
